Sue has been training in Shotokan Karate for the past 31 years. During her time at the World Championships Sue trained at Takushoku University, where Sensei Ohta and Sensei Enoeda began their Karate careers, for one and a half years.

Jason has been training in Shotokan Karate for the past 25 years, during which time he trained in Japan under Sensei Yahari.
