JOHN CORNISH

After a 6 year stay in Japan, in 1964 John returned with qualifications in Judo and Aikido and started teaching both at his own club, the Budokwai.
For 17 years John was a National Coach in Judo, with special responsibility for Kata, with the BJA, and so was the head coach and examiner for Judo Kata. John was also Technical Director for the BJA for 7 years.
In Aikido John was the founder of the UK Aikido Federation. The UKAF is one of the founder members of the BAB- the Sports Council recognized governing body for Aikido in the UK.
Having trained at Aikido under the Founder and his directly appointed sensei’s, John naturally teaches the Aikido he was taught.
